Protection Planning Grant GuidanceThe Division has two distinctly different grant programs for interested public water systems. The guidance for each type of grant award is designed to provide background information and assist in completing the grant application. Water Assessment and Protection Pilot Planning Project (PPP) Grants
These grants award funds to source water protection entities that develop exemplary and comprehensive source water protection plans. The grants are larger (typically $25,000 - $35,000) with a maximum award of $50,000 and have more requirements than the Development and Implementation Grants (see link below). Protection
Plan Development and Implementation (D and I) Grants
These grants award funds to source water protection entities to support development and implementation of protection plans. The grants are smaller (up to $5,000) and awarded for supplementing the costs of protection planning and implementation.
