Public Water System Supervision Program

The United States Congress passed the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) in 1974 with the basic intent of ensuring the drinking water in our country presents no significant threat to health.  Congress also intended for States to administer the programs under the Act and provides grant funds to assist the States in this duty.  The Colorado Department Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is delegated primacy enforcement responsibility for the Public Water System Supervision (PWSS) program.
