Kraft Foods Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Nuts in Post
LiveActive Mixed Berry Crunch Cereal

DENVER--State health officials Monday announced that Kraft Foods is voluntarily recalling nearly 13,000 cases of Post LiveActive Mixed Berry Crunch Cereal because a small number of the boxes may contain nuts (almonds, pecans and/or walnuts)-ingredients excluded from the label.

Only boxes in 13-ounce retail cartons with a “Best When Used By” date of December 17, 2008 and a Universal Product Code (UPC) of 00430000238900 are affected.

Health officials warned people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to nuts not to consume the product as they run the risk of a health problem or illness. Consumers may call 1-866-771-1511 to receive a full refund.

The affected cereal was distributed nationwide through retail outlets. A Kraft Foods representative verified that product had been delivered nationwide, including Colorado, but could not provide a list of specific distributors.

Kraft Foods confirmed the presence of nuts in samples that were submitted for testing after it received one consumer report of an allergic reaction.
