KFC Recalls Double Chocolate Chip Cakes

DENVER--State health officials Monday announced that KFC Corp. is voluntarily recalling its Double Chocolate Chip Cakes because they contain eggs, milk, wheat, soy and possibly traces of tree nuts, ingredients not individually labeled on product packaging.

The cakes, which come in a round, 16-ounce package with a black or clear plastic bottom and a clear plastic dome, are being recalled because people who have an allergy to the ingredients run the risk of serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume the cakes.

Customers with these allergies who have purchased Double Chocolate Chip Cakes are urged to return them to a KFC restaurant for a full refund.

The recalled cakes were distributed nationwide at KFC restaurants. One allergic reaction to this product in Kentucky has been reported.

Additional information for Double Chocolate Chip Cakes and all KFC products can be found at http://www.kfc.com/nutrition/pdf/kfc_ingredients.pdf.

Customers with questions can call 1-800-CALL-KFC.
