Maternal and Child Health in Colorado

Vision: Healthy People, Healthy Families, Thriving Communities

Mission: To optimize the health of women, children, adolescents, children with special health care needs, and families using public health strategies that support community action, facilitate capacity building, strengthen public health infrastructure, and enhance systems of care. These activities include: ongoing assessment, collaborative planning and program implementation, education, evaluation and policy development. 

Funding: Maternal and Child Health (MCH) activities are largely funded through the Title V Block Grant, administered by the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).

Programs: Colorado MCH works in partnership with local and state-level partners to implement local and state-level activities that address the following areas:
