Healthy Child Care Colorado
Healthy Child Care Colorado is a program that provides consultation, technical assistance and training for providers of child care in Colorado to enhance their response to the health and safety needs of young children.
This program recognizes the need to integrate health prevention and promotion activities within the child care setting to assure high quality care and healthier children through a statewide network of health and safety nursing consultation and the development of training tools and resources. |
Goals: of the Healthy Child Care Colorado initiative are to provide:
- Safe and healthy child care environment for all children including those with special health care needs.
- Provide current information pertaining to specific rules and regulations that support a safe and healthy child care environment
- Health, nutrition and safety education for child care providers, child care health consultants, families and their children

Additional Healthy Child Care Colorado Training Opportunities
- Healthy Child Care Colorado Training for Child Care Health Consultants. A $25.00 registration fee covers all resource materials and lunch; scholarships are available. - An introductory online training is available for the Child Care Health Consultant (CCHC), please contact Linda Satkowiak for specific information on how to access this on Co.Train.org
- Child Health Liaison course: The CDPHE Child Health Liaison online course is a training resource for early care and education providers interested in improving health and safety in their programs. Potential course participants include individuals who provide out-of-home care in child care centers, family child care home, Head Start, preschools, etc. Information about this course can be found at CO.TRAIN.org course # 1007462.
