The Colorado Rural Outreach Program (CROP) provides matching grants for loan repayment or bonuses, to assist in the
retention of your valuable healthcare professionals. CROP is available to all healthcare professionals. Health center applicants are eligible to receive up to $20,000. The deadline for the fall Colorado Rural Outreach Program (CROP) grants is November 1, 2010 with awards being made around December 1. The health professions Faculty Loan Repayment Program assisted health professionals from disadvantaged backgrounds with up to $40,000 against educational loan debt in exchange for educating tomorrow's clinicians. Individuals selected to participate in the program agree to serve on the faculty of an accredited health professions college or university for 2 years. The federal government pays up to $40,000 of the participant's student loans and provides funds to offset the tax burden. The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) is a group of highly skilled health professionals dedicated to making access to health care a reality for everyone in America.  Clinicians practice where they are needed in a designated Health Professional Shortage Area.  Corps providers either receive scholarships for their education in return for service, or repayment of educational loans for a like commitment.  The Primary Care Office is the lead contact in Colorado for health care facilities wanting to become an approved site for NHSC recruitment.  For more information visit: http://nhsc.hrsa.gov/index.htm

The Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (NELRP) funded by Health Resources Services Administration, Bureau of Health Professions, offers Registered Nurses substantial assistance to repay educational loans in exchange for service in eligible facilities, which are located in areas experiencing a shortage of trained nurses.  The purpose of this program is to assist in the recruitment and retention of professional nurses dedicated to providing health care to underserved populations.  For more information visit: http://www.hrsa.gov/loanscholarships/repayment/nursing/

The Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program was created by congress in 2007 to encourage individuals to enter and continue to work full-time in public service in a nonprofit or public organization. Under this program, borrowers may qualify for forgiveness of the
remaining balance due on their eligible federal student loans after they have made 120 payments on those loans under certain repayment plans while employed full time. Since borrowers must make 120 monthly payments on their eligible federal
