Women’s Wellness Connection (WWC)
Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment
There is a small chance that a woman may be diagnosed with breast
cancer or cervical precancer or cancer. If a woman is enrolled in WWC
and needs treatment, the clinic's case manager will pre-qualify the
woman for Medicaid's Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP).
The qualifications include:
- Enrolled in WWC
- Has had at least one screening exam (clinical breast exam,
mammogram or Pap test) at a WWC-contracted
site.
- Has no creditable insurance coverage for breast or cervical
cancer treatment
- Is 40 to 64 years of age
- Is a Colorado resident and/or receives breast and cervical
health care in Colorado
A woman will be ineligible* for BCCP Medicaid if she:
- Does not complete the Medicaid application as required
- Is no longer in need of breast or cervical cancer treatment
- Reaches the age of 65
OR
- Obtains other creditable insurance coverage for treatment.
*Medicaid will send notice of ineligibility in writing.
