College of Surgeons (ACOS) and National Cancer Database(NCDB)
The NCDB is the data management system for hospitals and
programs approved by the Commission on Cancer (COC). It is co-sponsored by the American
College of Surgeons (ACOS) and the American Cancer Society (ACS). NCDB data helps
physicians, cancer registrars and hospital administrators improve the management of care
for cancer patients and comparative studies produced from the data serve as both a quality
assessment tool and an agent for quality improvement in oncology care.
