2006-07 Active Community Environments Workplan Activities

The following are priority activities for the Active Community Environments Task Force in 2006-07.

  • Host quarterly stakeholder meetings to provide education and information to participants regarding ACE principles, with a focus on increasing statewide representation and integrating with other COPAN task forces..
  • Sponsor/provide at least four regional trainings for promoting policy and environmental change, building upon trainings with Colorado Department of Transportation engineers and utilizing CDC's Policy and Environmental Change: New Directions for Public Health in training development.
  • Provide technical assistance to at least four communities regarding ACE policies and physical projects.
  • Collaborate with School Site Task Force and Colorado Department of Transportation to facilitate Safe Routes to School to increase the number of applications to the SR2S grant program.
  • Provide at least five grants not to exceed $40,000 total, to implement policy or environmental changes.
