Certification - Environmental Labs

Environmental lab worker Environmental laboratories are accredited by the Certification Program.

Approval granted under state regulations is intended to guarantee accurate laboratory testing results.
Laboratories testing Colorado public drinking water must be accredited.
   
Environmental laboratories may be accredited following the laboratory criteria set forth by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. 
 

Certification Program staff conducts on-site inspections of environmental testing laboratories every two years to evaluate compliance with Environmental Protection Agency's Manual for the Certification of Laboratories Analyzing Drinking Water.  Approved laboratory testing may include chemistry, radiochemistry and/or microbiology.
