Medical Marijuana Advisory Committee

 

 

The Committee was created to advise the department’s executive director regarding rule-making as required by two medical marijuana bills passed by the Colorado General Assembly (SB10-109 and HB10-1284) in 2010.The intent was to be open and transparent and create rules with stakeholder input. The Committee developed recommendations regarding rules for implementation of the two new laws, all of which have been or will soon be submitted to the state Board of Health for official rulemaking. With the completion of the Committee’s review and recommendation concerning patient rules on March 3, 2011, the committee has concluded its mission.   As future rulemaking needs for the medical marijuana registry arise, the department may reconvene the Committee on an as needed basis.
