Section 18 Waste Grease Regulations

A new Section 18 to address waste grease was added to the Colorado solid waste regulations due to passage of House Bill 10-1125, which required the Department to adopt regulations regarding the collection, transportation and disposal of trap grease and yellow grease.  The regulations included provisions regarding the registration of individuals, facilities and vehicles that collect, transport, store, process or dispose of grease, personal use of waste grease, use of a manifest to track waste grease transportation, establishment of financial assurance, annual reporting requirements and annual registration fees.

As a result of the passage of Senate Bill 12-077, the Waste Grease Regulations will need to be revised to remove yellow grease from the definition of waste grease.  Stakeholder meetings will be held to address only the removal of yellow grease from Section 18 of the regulations.
