Section 16 Motorized Equipment Waste Regulations

On June 3, 2005, the Governor signed Senate Bill 05-141 (SB-141) concerning the disposal of wastes related to motorized equipment.  SB-141 prohibited the disposal of residentially generated used oil, lead acid batteries and waste tires effective July 1, 2007.  After a series of stakeholder meetings, a hearing regarding the proposed new Section 16 regulations (Disposal of Motorized Equipment Wastes) was held on May 15, 2007 before the Colorado Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission.  The proposed regulations were adopted with modifications and became effective July 1, 2007.  The new regulations are available at http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/regulations/solidwaste/index.html.
