Household Bandages and Wound Dressings
Disposal
To prevent accidental exposure, soiled bandages, wound dressings, garments and
linens should be placed in securely fastened plastic bags or sealed in sheet
plastic with strong tape. Make sure the outside of the bag or plastic
wrap is free of visible contamination before being put in the trash.
Trash containing these potentially infectious wastes should be stored away
from pets and children until it can be picked up for disposal or taken to
the landfill.
These procedures are intended for small
quantities of bandages and wound dressings from a household only.
