Environmental Records Search
Environmental Records Search is a service offered by the
Division for a fee to search division databases for sites within a
set radius of a site of interest. The Colorado Board of Health approved a $25.00 per hour fee for staff time expended on an Environmental Record
Search (formerly Environmental Audit). The record search
looks through our databases for known or reported regulated events at or in the
vicinity of a specified property. The record search contains no evaluation of
the potential environmental impact to the site, nor does the report generated
constitute a Phase I Environmental Assessment of the property. Further, the
absence of information on a particular parcel or property does not necessarily
mean that there are no problems connected with the property. Access to
records is provided under the Colorado Open Records Act. Databases
We currently search databases noted below for the address/property
name and the one-half mile to one mile radius of the requested property you have supplied.
-
Methane gas study (1979)
-
Investigation of Methane Gas Hazards (1981 Denver Metro)
-
CERCLIS (Superfund) & ARCHIVE LIST (No further remedial action
planned)
-
Solid Waste (current or open landfills)
-
Historical Solid Waste (closed or abandoned landfills)
-

Properties)
-

ASTM Standards
We are aware that the new ASTM industry standard requires an area
search of our various databases as part of a Phase I Environmental Assessment.
A search is
made of the above listed databases/lists within a one-half mile radius of the requested
address with the exception of hazardous waste treatment, storage and
disposal facilities (TSDF) and National Priorities Lists (NPL or Superfund), which are searched within a 1 mile
radius.
We have current maps of the Denver metro area and will use these
maps to pull streets for an area search. We do not have up-to-date maps of all the rural
areas. However, if you supply a map indicating street names in the vicinity of the
requested site, it will be used in performing a radius search. The search supplied meets
the ASTM Standards. Our current turnaround time for this report generation is between 10
to 12 days.
