Training

FEMA offers a variety of online, independent-study courses that help educate individuals about mitigation and prevention of hazardous situations, disaster response, emergency management, personal preparedness and more. Facilities are encouraged to complete any courses they find relevant, in addition to the ones collected in the toolkits. The information is also useful in developing personal or family emergency plans.

The courses are offered online, free of charge, at http://training.fema.gov/IS/crslist.asp.

Law Documents

These links refer to federal, state or local laws, regulations, doctrines or codes that regulate emergency operations planning, requirements for plans, provide official definitions, or other information that has a legal authority or background. The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment offers no interpretation of these laws and provides them as references only.

These links open into documents that provide guidance and professional standards for the nation, for the creation of national, state or local law, or for the submission of budgets and allocation priorities. These are not legal documents, though many of them draw on, explain or are heavily influenced by laws and Presidential Directives or Executive Orders.
