Health Facilities - Licensing and Certification

The Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division regulates health care entities in the state of Colorado by ensuring that they comply with applicable health and safety standards.  Licensed facilities must be in compliance with state licensure standards.  Facilities that are Medicare and/or Medicaid certified must be in compliance with standards established by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) or the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing.  To determine which facilities the Division 1) licenses and 2) surveys for the purposes of recommending Medicare/Medicaid certifications, please review Licensure and Certification of Health Care Entities.
