Wireless Access Policy

Due care should be used at all times when planning and implementing wireless technologies to access the Colorado Immunization Information System web-based application. Recommendations for wireless connectivity to the CIIS Application include:

• Use of anti-virus software and update of the .dat files for the CIIS application weekly
• If the anti-virus software does not include a malicious software scanner, use a separate scanner and update the scanner’s .dat files weekly
• Use a firewall – either a personal firewall or an appliance/server-based unit
• Keep software programs and packages updated in accordance with the manufacturer’s patch recommendations
• Use the most recent – and accepted – security protocol for the transmission of data over the Internet and within the local network
