Shigella

Shigella is a bacteria that causes an intestinal illness in people. Typical symptoms include diarrhea, sometimes bloody, fever, cramps, nausea, and sometimes vomiting. Symptoms usually appear 24 to 72 hours after exposure and generally last 3-10 days. Some people may not have any symptoms, yet are still able to transmit the disease to others.
