Rabies Resource Guide
The Colorado Rabies Resource Guide is now available. This document is a resource for the surveillance, prevention and control of rabies in Colorado. The target audience is “first responders” to rabies: local public health officials, animal control agencies, wildlife officials, animal health officials, veterinarians, wildlife control operators, and wildlife rehabilitators. This document was drafted by the Colorado Rabies (CORAB) Task Force, a self appointed group which first met on June 21, 2010. The mission of CORAB is to coordinate state, local, and federal resources for protection of public health, wildlife health, and domestic animal health from rabies in Colorado. The latest version of this guidance document is available on the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) portal called Situational Awareness Tool (SaTool), the Colorado Association of Animal Control Officers (CAACO) member’s only webpage (www.caaco.org), and the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA) member’s only webpage ( www.colovma.org), or by contacting CDPHE at 303-692-2700. For access via the CDPHE SaTool: The Colorado Situational Awareness Tool (SATool) provides access to a host of information sharing capabilities, including document sharing. The Rabies Community on the SATool shares guidance and reference materials for rabies response in Colorado that are not necessarily available to the general public through the CDPHE website. Instructions for accessing the Rabies Community on the SATool can be found below. o Creating a New Account: · Go to www.satool.org and click on “Create Account”.
