What is food defense?
Food defense encompasses protection of the agriculture and food
system from terrorist attacks, major disasters, and other emergencies
through prevention, protection, response, and recovery activities.
"If You See Something, Say Something"
The US Department of Homeland Security has initiated its "If You See
Something, Say Something" campaign to help educate restaurants on how to
identify suspicious activity and what to do in the event that you become
aware of suspicious activity. Improved awareness can prevent
businesses from being used in illicit or terrorist activities. Be
aware. Your effort makes a difference.
Colorado Information analysis Center (CIA)
The CIAC was established in response to the 9/11 attacks and is
designed to link all stakeholders in Colorado from local and federal law
enforcement officers, to restaurant operators, school teachers, and the
everyday citizen with regard to potential threats of terrorism.
To report suspicious activity, a report may be filed through the
CIAC website. CIAC may also be
reached at 877-509-2422 or
ciac@ciac.co.gov.
