Lincoln Park / Cotter Superfund Site
Community Advisory Group
Canon City, Colorado
Mission Statement
The Lincoln Park / Cotter Community Advisory Group (CAG) is an independent
organization of concerned citizens dedicated to examining issues related to the
site through all available means, in order to share what is learned with the
community openly and honestly, and to advise all interested parties and
agencies.
Background
The Lincoln Park / Cotter Community Advisory Group was initiated in 2004.
The Community Advisory Group is a self-determining and supporting body
representative of city and county government, concerned citizens, and federal
and state regulators.
Purpose
The Community Advisory Group provides an organized public forum based on an
agenda to discuss issues pertinent to the cleanup at Cotter mill and the Lincoln
Park Superfund site. Community members are welcomed and encouraged to
request an agenda from Jeannine Natterman prior to the meeting. Because of the specific nature of
agenda items, it is recommended that community members newly interested in the
advisory group become familiar with the topic prior to the meeting.
- Technical and community involvement specialists from the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment and the Environmental Protection
Agency are considered to be ex-officio members, and attend the meetings to
provide information and answer questions.
- Generally, the Community Advisory Group meets the fourth Thursday of
most months of the year, at 6:00 p.m. at the Garden Park High School, 201 N.
6th Street in Canon City.
